Al Ahly suffered a 1-0 defeat to Enppi in our opening match of Egypt Capital Cup group stage.
With the squad featuring young players and those returning from injury, the Reds controlled the pace but struggled to break through Enppi’s defense.
The Eagles pressed early, and the first real chance came in the 10th minute when Yahya Attiat Allah delivered a cross to Samir Mohamed, who couldn’t find the net. Omar Kamal and Mohamed Magdy Afsha also tried to break the deadlock, but Enppi’s defense held firm.
In the second half, the Reds pushed harder, making key substitutions, including the introduction of Ali Maaloul, who made his first appearance after 10 months out due to injury.
Just as the match seemed destined for a draw, Enppi struck in stoppage time through Mohamed Sobiha’s header, giving the win to the opponents.
